Princess Mary made an effort to get to the front, hut was weighted too heavily, and fell in the rear again. Phoenix still maintained the lead with Voltaire and Premier close behind and Flora M‘Donald third, running well within herself. In the last half mile Flora rushed into first place, and maintained it to the winning post, finishing a well contested race a couple of lengths ahead of Premier, who was about a length iu front of Phoenix, Glenary fourth. SELLING RACE. Firetail 1 Castilian 0 The pair jumped off together, Castilian making the running to the distance, where Firetail drew alongside, however, Castilian though going unkindly, won by half a length, but was discpialified for a cross. The day was wet throughout. There were about 2000 people present. The going was very heavy.
