Wellington - , November 26. Mr Travers' address to the Wellington electors is published this morning. He opposes the continuance of provincialism and the dismemberment of the colony. It is announced that after the 4th prox. the name of the Tribune will be changed to the Evening Argus, and the Arm will be Gillon, Kent, and Waters. To-day Edwards commences his feat of walking 105 miles in twenty-four houi-s. Charles Lavery has been committed for trial at Wanganui for attempted rape on a girl fourteen years of age. The Easby sailed at noon for the South. Passenger from Wellington, Airs Robinson, and seventeen from Sydney. GItAHAMSTOWN, November 26. William How has announced himself as a candidate for the Thames. Sir George Grey, it is sa'd, will accept the requisition from here. It is reported that Mr James Mackay will not stand. Dunedtn, November 2(5. The shop of Mr Kerry, butcher, at Pelicha Bay, was burnt down last night. Six of scarlet fever are reported by the medical health otlicer in one house in Maitland street. The house is quarantined, and every exertion is being made to isolate the persons attacked. All the papers have strong articles urging the most stringent measures to prevent the spread of the disease. It was brought over here by a passenger per Ringarooma on her last trip.
