Auckland, Nov 6.

Whales are reported to be very numerous off the Bay of Islands. Several have been captured by local boats. The Vasco de Gama has sailed for Sydney, Taueanga, November 6.

The Bay of Plenty Times correspondent at Ohinemutu reports great anxiety on the part of the natives for a sitting of the Lands Court in that district. He also says carp are breeding extensively in the lakes Tararua and Rotokakahi. The chief Mahiti Reangikahike, known as Wm. Marsh, will stand for the East Coast at next election.
