POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: —< Saturday, October 23. Mails per Taranaki will close as under : For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, at 9 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, Sandwich Islands, America, British and Foreign West Indies, &c., &c., at 8.30 p.m. For all the Northern Ports of New Zealand, at 9 p.m. Newspaper box will close at 8 p.m. Registered letters and money orders, at 5 p.m. Sunday, October 24. Supplementary mail, via San Francisco, per Taranaki, at 8.30 a.m. Monday, October 25. Mails per Albion will close as under : For United Kingdom via Suez, Brindisi, and Southampton, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m. ; railway, 4 p.m. train. For Continent of Europe, via Suez, India, China, and the East, &c., at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m. ; railway, 4 p.m. train. For Australian colonies and Southern provinces, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway, 4 p.m. train. For registered letters, money orders, and newspapers, at 2 p.m. For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, America, &c, Northern Ports, of New Zaaland, per Taupo, at 1.15 p.m.; late letters, 1.45 p.m.; railway, 2.30 p.m. train.
