MISCELLANEOUS
There is very little stirring in the literary world just now. It is reported that Mr Browning has nearly finished a new poem. It is also stated that Mrs Oliphant is writing a new work, entitled “ The Makers of Florence,” the object of which, the Academy says, is to present to lovers of Florence a vivid picture of her past life and of the men who made her greatness. A new edition (the eighth) of Professor Max Muller’s “ Lectures o - ' the Science of Language” has just been published. A volume of essays “On the Science of Language,” by the same, is in the press. A Tremendous Convulsion takes place in the human interior during a “ bilious ” attack. The muscles of the stomach are spasmodically contracted, the gall bladder is violently squeezed and empties bile into the stomach, which is again convulsed and casts out its contents into the mouth. The cause of this internal commotion is purely gastric, although the blame is often laid upon the liver. Invigorate the stomach withUDOLPHO Wolfe’s Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps you would avoid “ bilious ” attacks.
