CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, October 22. (Before G. L. Hellish, Esq, R.M.) Drunk and Disorderly. Daisy Cornfoot, an old offender, who had been found lying drunk in the grounds of St John’s Church, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour. Larceny from a Dwelling.— Matthew Clune was charged with the larceny of some jewellery and articles of clothing from the dwelling of Patrick Callaghan, Okain’s Bay. The accused had been arrested at the Eangitata by Constable Cartmill. It appeared that on the prosecutor returning home he found his wife and accused had left together, taking away some of his (prosecutor’s) property, He then laid an information. Accused was remanded until the 25th, to be brought up before the Bench at Akaroa.
