Louis Pierre, charged with stealing a watch, the property of Wm. Houston, at Christohurch, h is been apprehended, and remanded to ChrHtchurch. WiJLLINCITON, September 24.
A Commission, consisting of Messrs Carruthers, Higgnson, Passmore, Dr Knight, J. B. Fitzgerald, and Colonel Gorton, is now sitting to enquire into the system on which the railway accounts of the colony are now kept and the stores accounted for. The Eight Rev the Auglican Bishop of Wellington is .suffering from low fever, but is considering to be pTogressing favorably. DUNEDIN, September 24.

The Merope's immigrants are all well and landed. On the voyage out she had a narrow escape from a collision with an iceberg. She sails for Lyttelton this evening, where she will unload.
