The Customs revenue collected yesterday was as follows
The land sold at the Waste Lands Board yesterday, amounted to 315 acres, realising £O3O. It is situated iu the following districts:— a. k. r. Upper Christchurch 74 0 0 Ashley 4 0 0 Timaru ICO 0 0 Banks’ Peninsula 20 0 0 Malvern 48 0 0 Ashburton 9 0 0 On Mr E. Wilkin’s weekly wool, skin, and tallow auction Mr Aikman reports as follows;—Upwards of 3200 skins and 42 packages were catalogued, and all sold at fair prices, the bidding being spirited throughout. Air Aikman quotes values as underBest sheepskins, 4s to 8s each; seconds do. Is to 3s 7d; hides, salted, 4d per 10; do green, 3-Jd per lb; rough fat, best, 2d, and 2jd per lb; do, inferior, l.)d per lb; tallow, 25s 8d per cwt.
