Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Saturday, August 7. For Dunedin, per Taranaki, at 11.35 a,m.; late letters noon ; railway station, 12.25 train. For the Northern Ports, per Phoebe, at 4.45 p.m. ; late letters, railway station, 5.30 p-m. train. For Hobart Town, per ship Italy, at 11 a.m. Correspondence must be specially addressed. Monday August 9. For Oregon, United States per ship Lanarkshire at 8 a.m. Only specially addressed correspondence will be sent. For Dunedin per s.s. Taupo. at 11.35 a.m.; late letters, 11.55; railway station, 12,25 noon. For Wellington, Nelson, and Newcastle, per Omeo. Hour of closing future notice. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
