The land sold at the Waste Lands Board yesterday, amounted to 733 acres, realising £1566. It is situated in the following districts:— A. K. P.
Mr H. E. Alport reports moderate supplies of both sheep and cattle at the Addington Sale Yards on Wednesday last. Prices of sheep were in lavov of buyers, as compared with the previous Wednesday. In several cases a reduction of Is 6d to 2s per head was noticeable. Cattle sold unevenly, some at extreme rates, and others much below recent prices. Merino wethers, good to prime brought 11s 3d to 14s; ditto ewes, 9s; cross-bred wethers, 15s to 18s; ditto ewes, 14s to 15s; good cross-bred stores, 12s to 14s; prime ditto ewes in lamb, 16s 6d: heavy pure-bred Leicesters, 20s; fat steers from £8 to £l2 10s; fat heifers and cows, £7 15s to £11; good 3-year old store steers, £7 12s 6d to £9 10s; station ditto, £6 ]7s 6d to £7, good 2-year old quiet ditto, £6; station ditto in poor condition, £5; eighteen months’ old mixed sexes, £3 17s 6d to £4 ss; nine months to yearlings, £2 to £2 128 6d. Sales of mutton ranged from 3d to 3HI per lb ; beef from 27s 6d to 35s per 100 lbs.
