MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, March 22. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.) INDECENT EXPOSURE. James Olivier, arrested by Constable Haddrell, for an act of this kind committed on the North town belt, in the presence of females and children, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labor. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Thomas Corbett, charged with drunken* ness, was fined ss. LYTTELTON. Saturday, March 20. (Before Wm. Donald. Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Rachael Boyd was discharged, her husband promising to take her straight on to the Christchurch Hospital. DRUNK AND FIGHTING IN THE PUBLIC STREETS. Peter Euland, arrested by Constable Beck, was charged with this offence. It appeared that the accused and a man named Simpson had a quarrel and fought on Norwich Quay at 12.30 p.m. on Friday, and that a number of people collected to witness the fight. The police stated there were seventeen previous convictions for similar offences against accused. The Resident Magistrate, after reprimand* ing accused, discharged him on his promising that he would not again offend. FIGHTING IN THE PUBLIC STREETS. Thomas Simpson, who was fighting with Peter Euland, was discharged with a caution, it being his first offence.
