MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, February 24. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Henry Glcisteme, for drunkenness, was fined ss; and Denis Toohcy, charged with being drunk at the railway station, was fined ss. John Andrews, for drunkenness, was fined ss. Jessie Andrews, who had been before the Court several times on a similar charge, was given one more chance and discharged on her promise that she would take the idedge. John Lane was fined 20s and cautioned. DRUNK AND ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES. "' Hugh O'Neil, arrested for being drunk and illegally on the premises of Mr Jackson, Kilmore street, was fined 10s. LYTTELTON. Tuesday, February 23. [Before W. Donald, Esq., K.M.] DRUNKENNESS AND ABSENT WITHOUT LEAVE. Thomas Davis was charged by Captain Southam, of the ship Waitangi, with this offence, and fined 10s for drunkenness or forty-eight hours' imprisonment. The fine was not paid. BREACH OP PUBLIC HOUSE ORDINANCE. John McQuilkin, licensee of the Railway Hotel, was charged by Constable Wallace with neglecting to keep a lamp burning during prohibited hours. The accused admitted the case, and was fined 10s and costs. LARCENY OF APPLES. Harry Street, James Green, Albert Ockford, John Durham, Henry Graham, William Hill, youths from ten to fifteen years old, were charged with stealing apples from the garden of Mr E. A. Hargreaves. Sergeant-Major O'Grady applied to have the charge withdrawn against Henry Street, whom he intended to call as a witness. The application was granted. The evidence of two witnesses and the boy Street was taken, and the Bench ordered the juveniles to be placed in the lock-up until the rising of the Court, when they were brought up, and after receiving a severe reprimand dismissed,
