A CURIOUS MARRIAGE.
{New York Paper.) A curious marriage occurred at Newark (New Jersey) a few nights since, causing a deal of amusement among those cognizant of its peculiarities. In that manufacturing city dwell a couple of popular belles, whose attendance at halls and picnics is regarded as an indispensable attraction for the socalled female Masonic reunions, indulged in by the affiliated ladies and gentlemen of the Eastern and Mystic Star confraternities. A young millionaire recently became acquainted with one of these ladies, who, being twin sisters, Rose and Minnie, are so alike as to b 3 d s irguished with difficulty, and, after a short courtship, proposed for Rose’s hand and was accepted. The day was named and the dresses prepared for the marriage, but Rose unfortunately had her heart set upon another gentleman, and hence intrusted her sorrows to Minnie’s keeping. This fae-simile sister had incautiously fallen in love with Rose’s suitor. So the girls arranged among themselves that while the wedding should progress the females should change places. Keeping their secret faithfully, the feminine Dromu's dressed themsel /es in faultless array—the one as bride the other as bridesmaid—so exactly similar that the groom was in hesitation as to which one he intended to recognize as his wife. When the ceremony was performed, Miss Minnie boldly took her sister’s place, and at its conclusion she and her Saratoga trunk was wafted off upon a bridal tour. The happy groom did not discover his mistake until receipt of a letter from Rose, informing him of the true facts of tlxe case, and imploring his love for her deceiving sister. The gentleman acquiesced in the change ; still, the proceedings necessitate a divorce and a re-marriage, which can only take place after a decree severing the bonds of matrimony between the young man and the young lady, whose names appear upon the matrimonial record, and who is anxious to wed another.
