PRIZE FIRING.

On Thursday morning a detachment of the Christchurch artillery went to the rifle range, Hillsboro’, to fire for prizes. Sergeant Piper won the first prize, a silver cup, presented by Messrs Peterson and Co. Bom. Burnet won the second prize, a piece of plate presented by Sergeant Piper, and Quarter-Master Sergeant Raven won the third prize, a sura of money.
