COLOMBO ROAD DISTRICT SCHOOL.

The annual treat to the scholars attending the Colombo road district school took place on Saturday last. The children, to the number of 507, assembled early at the school, and, after being arranged in order, were marched up Montreal street, and down Colombo road to the grounds of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association (kindly lent for the occasion). The dux boy and girl J. Hollobon and Fanny Bar tram—headed their respective schools, very proud of the flag they were carrying, and the first boy and girl in their divisions also carried a distinguishing flag. The school committee and teachers were most assiduous in their attention to the little ones, who seemed to enjoy their day’s outing most heartily. At six o’clock the children were marshalled, and marched back to the school for the distribution of prizes. The schoolrooms were crowded to excess, a large number of parents and friends of the children being present. The boys’ prizes were handed to the successful scholars by bir
