THE OPERA.
" MARTHA." This opera was reproduced on Saturday night, and though the attendance was not so large as we expected it would be, still there was a fair house. As the opera had been so recently performed, there is not much too add to our previous notice of it. Miss May and Miss Lambert were good representatives of the parts of Martha and Nancy, and Miss May had to respond to an encore after singing " Robin Adair." The various male characters were well filled too, and a word of praise must be awarded to the energetic gentleman who appeared in the fair scene as proprietor of the Punch and Judy show. The choruses wei e well given throughout the opera. The opera announced for representation to-night is Sir J. Benedict's "Lilly of Killarney," known to theatre-goers in the form of " The Colleen Bawn," and to novelreaders as "The Collegians." Before the opera commences the company will sing «' God bless the Prince of Wales."
