C.C.C. v COLLEGE. A match was played between the above clubs yesterday, on the U.C.C.C, ground, and resulted in an easy victory for the C.C.C., they having beat their opponents by an innings and 38 runs. The College were the first to appear on the defensive, Frith and Reeder being trusted with the bowling, and both bowlers being well on “ the spot,” the latter especially, no stand was made, and the Collegians were disposed of for the small score of 28, The C.C.C. then went in, and were not disposed of until they had placed 90 runs to their credit, Whitley having made 44, but he played rather luckily, having been missed three times, Deacon, Reeder, Frith, and Triggs also played well for their respective scores. The College again went in, but shared worse than in their first innings, only one man (Bidwell) getting into double figures. Frith, who bowled with very hard luck in the first innings, was “ well on ” as the analysis will show, and the total of Collegians’ second innings only reached 23.
