MAGISTRATES' COURTS.

CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, October 30. (Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. William Sheriff, arrested for drunkenness, and who was suffering very much from the effects of drink, was remanded for the purpose of being brought before Mr Justice Gresson, with a view to being committed to to the Inebriates' Asylum. George Stevens, for drunkenness, was lined 60s, or in default a week's imprisonment, and cautioned. Mary Birmingham and Mary Palmer were discharged with a caution. DRUNK AND USING OBSCENE LANGUAGE. George W. Pickering, arrested for being drunk and using obscene language in Colombo street, was fined 40s, or ninety-six hours. LARCENY. Charles Day alias Dee, and John Hennessey, were further remanded until next Wednesday, as the prosecutor was not well enough to attend.
