DIOCESAN SYNOD ANNUAL SESSION.

The annual session of the Diocesan Synod of Christchurch was opened this day, at 1 p.m., by the Right Rev the Primate, in the College Library. The following members were present: —The Right Rev the Primate, Very Rev the Dean of Christchurch, Ven Archdeacon Harper, Revs Canons Cotterill and Dudley, Revs Page, Lingard, G. P. Mutu, Merton, Wills, Pombcr, Cholmondeley, Fulger, Glasson, Stack, Willock, Watson, Bowen, Edwards, Cooper, and Britton. Laity; Messrs Leach, Palairet, Bridge, Packer, Stedman, Hanmer, Walker, Brittan, Lee, Alington, Blakistou, L. Harper, Mountfort, Webb, Graham. OPENING OF SYNOD. The Right Rev the Primate then declared the Synod duly open for the dispatch of business. THE BISHOP’S ADDRESS. The Right Rev the Primate then proceeded to deliver the opening address. The usual business having been transacted, the Synod adjourned.
