ROAD BOARDS.

SOUTH KAKAIA. The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Thursday, the 15th. PresentMessrs Wason (chairman), Coster, and Alington. A great number of tenders were received for the various works advertised, out of which several were selected for acceptance. Accounts were passed and paid to the amount of £482 ss. The barrack roaster, as collector of rents, presented his statement, which showed £l2 12s revenue as derived from the cottage lentals. Various correspondence was read and attended to. The Board stands adjourned to Thursday, 6th November. MANDEVJLLE AND RANGIORA, A special meeting of this Board was held on Friday last. Present: Messrs J. C. Boys (chairman pro. tern.), Bramley, and Wilson. The business for which the meeting was called being the consideration of the present requirements of the main roads in the district, it was resolved to proceed with that alone. After the balance sheet had been submitted, and the minutes read, it was decided that tenders should be called for the following works, viz.: 80 chains Main North road, near Kaiapoi ; about two miles Bangiora and Woodend toad; 70 chains Drain road, near Flaxton; 40 chains Drain road, Raugiora. Tenders were then opened for forming a portion of the Mairaki road and one accepted. No tender being received for the Mount Thomas road, the surveyor was instructed to let the work privately, The Board then adjourned.
