Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations : For Akaora, Timaru, and Port Chalmers, per ss. Beautiful Star, on Saturday, 2f>th September, at 4.30 p.m. For the Australian colonies, India, China, Mediterranean ports, Continent of Europe, United States, Canada, South America, and United Kingdom, via Suez, per s.s. Tararua, on or about 28th September. Newspapers, at 8 a.m.; late letters may be posted with the usual fee till 9.55 a.m. Money orders and registered letters on Saturday, 26th hist., at 5 p.m. For Otago and Southland, per Tararua, on or about 28th September. Hour of closing in a future notice. For Northern parts of New Zealand, per s.s. Pbcebe, on Saturday, 26th instant, at 2.30 p.m. J. J. Fitz Gibbon, Chief Postmaster.
