Schooners—Richard and Mary, Alert, Garibaldi, Helena. Cutter —Antelope. Thcss. Otago, Captain IW'Loau, arrived in harbour this day at 8.30 a.m. She sails for North this afternoon. The barque John Knox arrived in harbor this morning from Sydney. The s.s. Maori arrived in harbour this day at 1.30 p.m. She sails for South to-morrow, A brig and barque were signalled this day when our express left. The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Wheeler, arrived in harbor at 11.10 a.m. yesterday from Dyncdin. She sailed for Northern ports last night. The barque Fratelli Gaggino was towed in to the wharf yesterday, where she will discharge the remainder of her inward cargo. The s.s. Claud Hamilton, Capt. Bowden, arrived in harbor yesterday, at 8.30 a.m , from Melbourne, via the West Coast, Nelson, Picton and Wellington, having had very rough weather on the coast. She reports of the round trip : —Left Wellington wharf for Lyttelton at half-past four p.m., 18th. Experienced strong S.E.’aud S.S.E, winds, arriving at one p.m., 19th. Left for Oamaru at half-past eight p.m,, 20th, arriving at one p.m. on the 21st. Loft for Dunedin at halfpast two p.m., arriving at Port Chalmers Heads at half-past six p.m. the same day. Left for Bluff at twenty minutes to four p.m,, 23rd, and had strong S.W. winds, arriving at half-past eight p.m., 21th, Left for Melbourne at four p.m. same day. Experienced strong S, by W. winds on the 25tb and. 26th, Experienced strong squalls from the S. aud S. by W. On the 27th had fresh squalls from the S.W. by W., with heavy sea fur the remaining part of the voyage. On making the land experienced fine weather. Passed Kent’s Group at ten p.m. 29th ult,, and arrived in Melbourne harbor on the following morning. Discharged and loaded cargo. Left Port Phillip Heads at six p.m. June 9th. Passed Wilson’s Promontory at six a.m, on the loth ; passed the Sisters Islands on same date ; passed the s.s. Alhambra at 10.20 a.m. on the 11th, standing to the west. On the voyage across experienced for the first four days cast, south-east, and north winds. On the 14th, stiong gale, with heavy rain from E.N.E, On the 15th the wind moderated, but a heavy cross sea from the N.E. continued. Arrived off Hokitika at one p.m. on the* 16th, and wa& tendered by the s.s. Waipara at two p.m. Left for Greymouth at four p.m., arriving at seven p.m. Lay off until half-past eleven p.m., and was tendered by the p.s. Despatch. Then proceeded on to Nelsou. Experienced strong head wind and sea, arriving at Nelson jftt jjftidaight oa the 17th, Left Nelsou for
Wellington at ten a.m. on the 19th, and experienced strong head gale and heavy sea in the Strait, and had to heave-to until daylight. Then put into Picton, and anchored on the 20th. Left Picton at seven a.m. on the 21st ; experienced fine moderate weather, arriving at Wellington same day. Left Wellington at 1 p.m. on 23rd, arriving as above. We have to thank Mr Grotty, purser, for files. The Claud Hamilton sailed for Dunedin, via Timaru, yesterday afternoon.
