Tenders were received for cutting to river at Mackie's, and the two cuttings on Upper road, and for cutting at Mackie's alone, and one accepted.

No tender having received for the cutting between Jones' and Holmes', the clerk was instructed to employ labor to complete the same. And to communicate the drawbacks to correspondence which arises from two adjoining districts bearing almost the same name, viz., Rakaia and South Rakaia. The chairman was also empowered to purchase certain surveying instruments for the use of the Board.

On the motion of Mr Alington, seconded by Mr Holmes, it was resolved that no fence or gateway should allowed from this date upon any formed road, and that the clerk be instructed to carry the above motion into effect.

The chairman reported that, as there was no immediate probability of getting a district map from Government, and that as it was impossible to proceed further without one, he had taken upon himself to procure one from Mr Blanchard, and trusted the account would be passed, which was done by unanimous assent.

The meeting was adjourned until Friday, 3rd July.
