The City of Adelaide is dueatAuckland on the 20th with the mail, ex Mikado, which proceeds to Sydney to dock, in consequence of grounding at Honolulu. The City of Adelaide goes South, and returns on the sth of July, proceeding to Sydney on the Bth ; the Macgrcgor arrives from Sydney on the 4th, leaves on the Gfh for Kandavau with the mails and passengers, ex the City, and returns with the mail, ex Cyphrenes, about the 18th. She goes South, then goes through to San Francisco.
New Plymouth, June 12
During Captain King's funeral yesterday the public offices were closed as a mark of respect.
Mr Wm. Burton has been appointed English immigration agent. He goes home by the San Francisco mail.
Wellington, June 12
The following gentlemen have been appointed to inspect and report upon the condition of immigrants and immigrant ships upon their arrival at Timaru :—Messrs Peter Maclntyre, Belfield and Woolcombc, and Frederick Lecren (immigration officer.) Dunedin, June 12. Flour, £l2 to £l2 10s; oatmeal, £23; pearl barley, £25; pollard, £6 ; chaff, £4 10s ; hay, £5 ; potatoes, £4 ; carrots, £2 103 ; .turnips, none ; wheat, 4s Gd to 5s ; barley, 4s Gd to 5s ; oats. 4s to 4s 2d ; butter, Is 2d to Is 3d ; cheese, 6d. The origin of the fire is still undiscovered. The following is the correct list of insurances : —On'Mr Reed's premises, £SOO in the Norwich Union, £IOOO in the South British, and in the New Zealand £SOO ; in the Standard £SO ; Brown's buildings, £SOO South British. Mr W. H. Cotton and Captain Boyd left yesterday for the North as a deputation from the new Colonial Bank to co-operate with the various local committees formed over the colony. THIS DA TS TELEGRAMS.
