Mr Mack ay, General Government agent at the Waikato, threatens to bring an action for libel against the “Thames Advertiser” for stating that he had made purchases in the Upper Thames on his own account. Kotorua telegrams state that twenty shocks of earthquake were felt at Ohiuemutu on Sunday night. No damage was done. The natives arc petitioning Government to stop further purchases till the native title is individualized.

Fears arc entertained for the safety of the cutter Agnes, which left Manukau for Waikato Heads eleven days ago, and has been missing since with a crew of three men. Wellington, June 9.
