“THE TERROR,” PHENOMENAL SUCCESS. Edgar Wallace’s greatest thriller “The Terror” which was a, phenomenal suiodess as a (stage- play opened at the Regent yesterday as a Warner Bros, special 10J per cent, talking programme. An excellent cast of artists are featured, headed by the clever comedian, Edward Everett Horton and May AlcAvov. “The Terror” is a great murder mystery drama and is claimed to be an even greater success as a stage play* than as a talkie. “The Terror” is one of the most complete talkies presented, for not ja printed word >aivi>eaired right, through' the whole, thing. There were no subtitles and even the introduction of the performing stars was done by word of mouth, “'lire Terror” was splendid from the point of view ol the speech of the performers and the representation of the him-* curdling sounds in the mysterious house at the dead of night.’ Roy Del Ruth directed “The Terror,” which includes in its all-star cast May AlcAvov, Louise Fazoncla, Edward Everett Horton, Alec B. branch, Holmes Herbert, Mathew Betz, John Miljtin, Otto Hoffman, Joseph W. Girard and Frank Austin. “The Terror” will he shown again tliis afternoon and to-night.
'The supporting featurotles are of excellent quality. JiLM and Ernie Stanton, the . famous music hall comedians, appear -in the comedy sketch, “Cub Yourself a Piece of Cake”; Alary Lewis, the soprano singer from tho Metropolitan Opera sings “Dixie” and “'Take Me Back to Vjirgiuny”; Roger Wolf Kahn and his famous orchestra assisted by Henri Gardner, tenor singers, and the Williams Sisters, singing and dancing youngsters, present popular numbers; and Rev Schcpp, America’s master hanjoist, offers “Darkey’s Dream” and “Massa’s In 1)6 Cold Cold Ground.”
