The president of the New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors’ Association (Mr. (’. W. Earle) to-day received the following letter from the late Governor-General, Sir Charles Fcrgusson, dated February 8: —•

“On leaving New .Zealand 4 wish to express through you, to the Piexs of New Zealand and to all connected with it, niv great appreciation of the unfailing courtesy and eonsiderat ion shown to me throughout my tune in this country by newspapers and reporters alike. No one knows belter than myself the tact and care that have been shown in the discrimination of what should he reported and published, ami I should i'oel very ungrateful if I did not acknowledge it and express my sincere thanks. Believe me yours very faithfully—Charles Forgusson.”
