Barron, El--C * -Loisel •4. L. Reeves, C. El. Smith 1 , - and P. T. Weeks., Leave of absence was granted to Crs. S. King, Spencer, and J. McNeil.. ' . Wiaiapu County Council asked' that consideration ho given to. a ; joint scheme for appointing, a trafj tic inspector for-the Mntakaoa, AVai. upiv and Tlawa Counties.—Clerk boinstructed to reply that tiio Council is agreeable to joining up with the suggested scheme and suggests that a conference' between the Chairmen of the Matakaoa, AVaiapu and ITawa Counties be held at Tokomaru to arrange'details.—Carried The poundkeepor’s report showed 12 head of stock impounded during the month. Tlie Health Inspector’s report showed 9 eases of infectious diseases during the year. Tim Clerk was instructed To in-' tfti.ti.ijte proceedings' ltd .amend the plumbing and drainage regulations. The Clerk was authorised to order 200 sanitary service pans and 25 lidtf from the lowest tender and to obtain quotations for cartage from the local carriers. The engineer was authorised to confer .with Mr. Reynolds with reference to the alteration of tlie roadline of Hick’s Road. The ' -Clerk was instructed -to charge the usual rates for calves, including weaners, dipped at the cattle dip. Tho engineer was instructed to order the necessary timber to provide running deck for Tolaga Bridge. -The Engineer was instructed to prepare, an estimate, for next meeting, of the cost of erecting Cyclone netting on Tolaga. Bridge. The engineer’s report stated : Main Highways Maintenance.—-Re-coating Kith maintenance shingle has been carried out on 41 and -12 mile and shingle repairs are now in hand on 3! mile and 35 mile, Small bridge near County Depot at-. fU ?n4e ulvch had practically collapsed and has been replaced with > .pipe culvert, and necessary filling in ha* been eomulcted. As soon as filling in has settled, permanent metalling will he carried out. . ■

District Roads.—-Rolling in and top dressing, of metalling on TclagaArakihi Road.-has been completed. Surfaceman is enagaged cleaning up aid generally rt-pn.ir.ng r< au. Fro-' tec live groin .has been placed at dcNab’s br.dge where erosion was occurring through deepening, and straightening on channel below bridge. Repairs have, also bee'n earned out -to bridges on this section. Re-instatement . of formation on Rutledge’s Road damaged by boon lias been completed and necessifiy culverts placed.
