PELTZEIi. IN CHRISTCHURCH. GERMAN RUNS TWO RACES. (Press Association.) CHRISTHURCH. Feb. 10. Dr. Peltzer ran two races at an evening sports , meeting at Lancaster Park to-night. The -track was in perfect order, but a stiff' northoast. breeze which met the runnersdown the back stretch made recordbreaking difficult, if not impossible. Fifteen hundred people were present and gave Peltzer a flattering reception. . .. Peltzer conceded handicaps up to 35 yards to local runners in the race. ‘Those handicap men sot a fast pace. In the first quarter Pelfczor made no impression on them and, not until the last 200 yards did the field come hack to him. He failed to catch. 0. L. Nieoll (handicap 2y yards), who won bv 9vds. in 2.16. Peltzer’s time was 2.18 1-5. Peltzer won the 440yds Invitation Handicap in 52 2-ssec, boating A. Bullivant (handicap 10 cards') on the tape by half a yard. D. W. Bishop (handicap Byds) was third, a yard further hack. -
