BOXING.
o TOURNAMENT AT OPOTIKI. GISBORNE V- - WANTED. Advice has been received that the Opotiiii Boxing Association intend to hold a two nights’ tournament at Opotiki on March 8 and 9, the nights of the Opotiki show and races. Thefirst night will be the most important, and an attractive programme is being arrange',. On the following evening, the' programme will consist of bouts between Opotiki talent and any -visiting boxers who may be prepared to enter the ring. Specially interesting on the first night should be the meeting of Gus Fitzmaurice and La Roussee, of Auckland, who was runner-up in the last New Zealand welter championship. Any local boxers who wish to make the trip should get into touch with Air. S. Bard well. The Opotiki Association will pav 'board and fares both ways for any visiting competitors.
