“GOOD AND NAUGHTY” If you are a. ‘Cinderella Girl” you will want to see “Good, and Naughty” starring Pola Negri, which will be screened at the Palaice again to-night. A ‘Cinderella Girl” is one who does not realise her natural charm and beauty or for some reason or other has never taken advantage of them. She can bring out her charm to advantage if she will only take the trouble to do so. The story is from the Avery Hopwood stage farce, ‘‘Naughty Cinderella”. It is the talo of a girl who is secretly in love with her employer, but he pays scant attention to her, focusing his attention's on a millionaire patron’s wife. As generally happens in such situations, he finds himself embroiled ;it a tangle that bids fair to cause much unpleasantness. Pola Negri, a.-, the girl, makes a valiant effort to save him. Fore Sterling has a splendid comedy character. The ( supporting program me is also good. The cichestra will render special selections.
"H.WIiP” TO-MOIffiOW NIGHT There art two kinds of havoc in the William Fox production by that name which commences to nan row at the Pahao Theatre. There .s the'havoc caused by a woman. It is a fine, big picture, from every viewpoint—excellent in its conception, and well carried out by a well-chosen cast. The story, in brief, is of two men whose life-long friendship is ruined by their love for one selfish woman. She could not decide which of them sho loved, and neither of them realised the truth—that she was incapable of loving-anyone hut. herself. Circumstances made one of them a captain and the other a lieutenant in the same company. In a fit of mad jealousy, this captain sent his friend into the most exposed position on the line, ordering him to hold on there, oven after headquarters had given the command for a retreat. Many lives were lost needlessly—including that of the captain himself, who committed suicide. But the woman went on serenely and “did not understand”. She couldn’t.
