SECRET WEDDING
BARONET’S SON AIARRIES AUSTRALIAN GIRL.
DID NOT TELL THEIR FAAULIES. LONDON, Nov. 19. “Mother, Peter and I have just got married. What are you going to do about it?” This is not an extract from a novel. It is an actual declaration by a daughter to her astonished mother -n a London hotel on Wednesday. Four years ago Air. Douglas Clifford (Peter) Beauchamp, son of Sir Frank Beauchamp, met Aliss Nanc; Aloss, of Sydney, Australia, and later they became engaged. . . When they met again after a fairly long separation they decided to marry without delay, not telling their respective families. The wedding took place yesterday in the Prince’s Row Register Office, S.W. Airs. Laurie Aloss told a London “Evening News” representative that when Nancy brought Peter to the hotel in which Mrs Aloss is at present staying, and made the announcement quoted above, she thought at first they were joking. “But when they produced evidence i, quite nonplussed, hut nevertheless happy, rang up Peter’s mother, Lady Beauchamp. “She answered, having recovered from the surprise, ‘Well, tlie obvious tiling is a little celebration of some sort.”
“We" telephoned available members of the two families and Lady Beauchamp hurriedly arranged a very jolly luncheon at the Hyde Park Hotel. In the afternoon tlie young couple decided to dasli off for their honeymoon to Folkstone, where they first met.
