BOASTED CURES
FURTHER SPAHLINGER REVE-
LATIONS. “DON’T LET PATIENTS COME.” “I GREW WORSE UNDER TREATMENT.” (United Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 26. The Daily Express’ special Geneva correspondent, continuing his Spalllinger revelations, says: ‘<l asked Spahlinger and hs man nager, Lovell, for a list of recent cures who returned to work in England.... They promised it, but despite reminders the list never was forthcoming. “I investigated some boasted cures.
“One Englishwoman now dying dictates letters from her death-bed stating, ‘Don’t let patients come for Spahlinger treatment. “A British -ex-army brigadier stated: ‘I paid Spahlinger £SOO, and took the serum in all ways, i was cited as much improved. As a matter of fact I grew worse under the treatment. I would like !o do everything to prevent poor people coming to seek treatment.’ ” Another Englishman, after taking the serum from September, 1925, to June, 1926, came to Geneva and saw Spahlinger, who guaranteed a cure with a special serum for £400....‘My wife and I sold everything we had in the world, paid £2OO and promised Spahlinger £2OO later,’ he said. I have taken the serum for five months, but now I am w0r5e,...1 have grown weaker and weaker. My relations are now paying for other treatment.
Professor Sahli, director of the ‘ medical clinic at Berne University, said Swiss patients were not treated by the Spahlinger method because no Swiss doctor thinks It of any vaIue.”—A.N.Z.C.A.
