MATTERS OF INTEREST.

(Special to the Times.) TOKOMARU BAY, Jan 25,

The S.S. Te ivoa has been loading wool and frozen meat at Tokomaru Lay. one sailed yesterday alter noon. Mr. E- W. Bilnam has been appointed to the Tokomaru Bay Public ocliool. He was sole teacher at Kanajvama.

A number of local boys are in vigorous training in for the boxing tournament on Friday night next. They are under the capable coaching of Mr. Ivan Lowe who is very satisfied with the showing ol' one or two of his pupils. The intense heat which lias been experienced for the last two or three days has driven all and sundry to the surf. The whole length of the beach was taken advantage of all day on Sunday.
