LIVING TORCH. FLAME-WRAPPED' GIRL. CLOTHES BURNT TO ASH. ROCKHAMPTON, Jan. 13. Ethel Ricks, 18, lies in hospital in a critical condition, following an awful experience. A petrol iron exploded, the liquid spraved her, and in a flash she was a pillar of flame. Screaming in her terrible agony, the unfortunate girl rushed through the house, with the flames streaming from her clothing. Other occupants as hurriedly as possible wrapped her in blankets and smothered the flames, hut by then her clothing was simply black lash and she was shockingly burned over the top _and low'er portions of her body, and on her hands. . , In addition to the burns she is suffering from shock.
