Another memorable programme tvas witnessed at the Tepid Laths tonight, when the New Zealand Swimming championships were continued in tlxe presence of a very large attendance. The swimming was again of an exceptionally high standard, two more .records being established. G. Bnclsuii, in the intermediate boys’ quarter mile event, swam the distance in omi-’i JS -i-dsec., thus lowering his own record of oinin 47sec., and Leslie Olds lowered the 75yds intermediate ooys breaststroke record - by 3sec to 62 3-o seconds. Two senior titles changed hands, P. p. Lindsay, of Canterbury, folio" ing up his success in the mile by annexing A. E. Baird’s 220yds title .and missing 'a Dominion record by oue-lifth of a second, while Miss li. jlillor and Miss M. Jepson, of Otago, botit defeated the Australian and New Zealand champion, Miss JF. Rage, m the 220yds ladies’ championship. 1,. Fairgray won the 150yds Oacfistroke championship for the third successive year. During the evening the men’s lo\vboird diving championship events decided. The final of the highboard divng will be lield on Thursday evening. The third carnival will be held on Wednesday night. Following are the results: Championship.—
L. Olds (Otago) 1, J. Magee (Auckland) 2, E. . Sommerville (Wanganui) 3. E. H. Schon (Canterbury) did not start. Magee and Olds had a great race all the way. Olds was superior on the turn and won by a foot. Sum-mer.-i lie was two yards away third. Time: 62 3-s—a New Zealand record.

Hridson left the other boys behind, an” amid loud applause touched home in -jinm 3S 4-ssecs., a New Zealand record. Sellars was over fifty yards away, and Cleland finished some time later. —soyds Junior Girls’ Breaststroke Championship.—
Aliss D l . Moye (Wanganui) 1, Miss Z. Fryer (tiawke’s Bay) 2, Miss tv Melton (Wanganui) 3. Also stai’ted: Aliss N. Berry (Canterbury). The winner swam strongly all the way and won by a yard. Aliss ’Fryer, the smallest girl in the race, got second by a touch. Time: 45 3-ssee. —-150yd3 Backstroke Championship— L. Fairgray (Auckland) 1, C. Heard (Canterbury; 2. The only starters. Fairgray, swimming the crawl -style of backstroke, Avon easily in limn 57 2-ssec., Heard being 6sec. behind.

Aliss D. Alacgee (Auckland) 1, Aliss Al. Simmonds (Hawke’s Bay) 2, Aliss N. Stratton (Wanganui) 3. Also -started: Miss L. Coutts (Auckland;, and Miss L. Broadhead (Wanganui). \\ on by three yards, with Aliss Stratton a touch away third. Time: 69 1-3, equal to New Zealand record. _rWF2Qyds Alen’s Championship.— Iff: T\ Lindsay (Canterbury) 1, J. Rix Trott (Wellington! 2, A. D. Adamson (Auckland) 3. Also started: J. Emvright, E. V. Cunnold (Auckland), W. Rvlaud (Wanganui). . The six swimmers left the hoard to a perfect start, and travelled up the bath for the first of the six laps' in an almost straight line. On the second lap Lindsay went away, and had secured'a lead of about six feet at the 6G 2-3vds. He wont on to win by six yards from Rix Trott, with Adamson third two yards aAvay. Enwriglit was fourth. Time: 2min 31 4-ssec, onefifth of a. second outside the New ■Zealand record.

Miss K. Miller (Otago).!, Miss -M. Jepson (Otago)' 2, Miss P. Page (Auckland) 3. The result of the race was in doubt until the last twenty yards. Miss Miller sot the pace,, and the race then developed into a tussle between Miss A filler and Miss Jepson, the last mentioned assuming a slight lead, but at the last turn Miss Miller was inches ahead of her, with Miss Page a yard back, and Miss Bell two yards away. Going up the last few yards Miss Miller went ahead to win by a yard from Miss Jepson, with Miss Page a similar distance away third, a touch separating Miss Bell. Time: 2mm 52 3->secs. Water Polo Championship.— Auckland A 10 beat Wellington f>. The following are the points for the interprovincial trophies: — Yaldhurst Shield.—Auckland 24. Canterbury 14, Otago 9, Wellington 3, Wanganui 3. War Memorial Shield. —Auckland 5, Otago 2, Wanganui 1, Canterbury and Wellington each nil.—P.A.
