FIVE-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED.

BLENHEIM, Nov. 6. The police have received word that a five-roomed dwelling owned by Mr Herbert Reeves, Hapaura, was totally destroyed at half-past ten last night. Tho family wore away from home at the time of the outbreak. Tho house was insured for £SOO and the furniture for £250. The origin is unknown. —P.A.

THREE SHOPS DESTROYED NAPIER, Nov. 6. Three shops in one wooden building in Hastings street were destroyed’by fire this morning. /The building was insured for £SOO in the South British office. It belonged to the estate of George Faulkner. Hoclges, fruiterer, was insured for a like sum in the Atlas office. Miss Young, dressmaker, who had no insurance, was also burned out.—l A.
