RYELAND SHEEP BREEDERS
NEW SOCIETY FORMED

Preliminary steps for tho formation of a N.Z. Society of Eyeland Sheep Breeders was taken at a meeting today, when Mr E. Averill (Hastings) presided over a representative attendance. Mr T. A. Stephens, in moving the formation of the Society, expressed his conviction that the Ryeland was the coming sheep, and considered that the establishment of a society was essential, in order that the breed would be given the consideration it deserved. It was decided that new members, whose flocks were not registered in the N.Z. Sheepbreeders’ Association, should he charged an entrance fee of 2 guineas, those joining after Dec. 1925, to lie charged in addition, £5 registration fee. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr T. A. Stephens Orwell) ; vice-president, Mr E. Averill; council, Messrs AV. Dean (AVaverlcy), F. J. Ellis (Bulls), M. S. Chambers (Havelock North), T. AY. 'Lonsdale (Marohimo), Bayly, AVitliell (Ealing), J. Brooks (Irwell), \s .. O. Ronnie (Doyleston), J. AV. Mall (Hororata); executive, president, vice-president, and Messrs Brooks, Rennie, and Hall; secretary, Mr M. Banks (Christchurch). —P. A.
