BAND CARNIVAL
•WONDERLAND’ 3 AT'GAIETY RINK. The seven days' entertainment at the Gaiety Hall from November 22 to November 29 will mark a. new era in local entertainments, and as a result the coffers of the Gisborne City Band should be very handsomely augmented. A most ambitious programme lias been outlined, each evening being given over to a new entertainment. All classes of the coininunity are interested in the band and as a result generous offers of he In have been received.
The opening evening will be a "Night of Harmony:"Monday, November 24, will be* “A Night in Maoriland” by Lady Carroll’s party; Tuesday, Nov, So, “A Night in Hawaii” bv Mi's. Phil Barry's party; Wednesday, Nov. 26, : ‘A Floral Night” by Mr, A. E. Lawrence r.r.d party ; Thursday. .“A Radio Night.” when items will be broadcasted from Dunedin under the direction of the St. Hilda Municipal Band; Friday, November 25. "A Pierrot. Night,” by the. Girls’ Emergency Club; "and Saturday. November *29, "The Night of Nights’’ by Mr. T. L. Shone :\nd party. On Thursday afternoon there -will ho a monster pageant and procession, followed bv sports at the Reserve; and on Saturday afternoon- a swimming carnival will bo given by the combined swimming clubs. At'the hall each evening there, will be numerous stalls and sideshows. The whole entertainment is being organised by energetic committee under Mr. .John* Vita. " A meeting of the committee will bo held in the Gaiety Rir.lr this evening, and all supporters of the band, ladies and gentlemen, ore given a cordial invitation to be present.
