The Maliana incident ended in the missing man returning to the ship, but, five men were arrested on a charge of disobeying lawful orders, and as to three of them there was a charge of_ assaulting the chief v.*gineer. The Seamen’s Union held a stop-work meeting, and resolved to declare the vessel “black” j f any of the crew were imprisoned. The 'Mali ana is stiii in the harbor. The case of the Maliana men was mentioned in the Police Court to-day, but the men were not formally charged counsel for some of the defendants t asking for and being granted an adjournment tiU to-morrow. — P.A.
