AORANC I’S FIRST TRIP
CRUISE OF 17,000 .MILES. U.S.'S. CO.’S NEW OIL STEAMER. WELLINGTON, Nov. 4. The Aorangi will undergo her trial trips, which are’to extend over 17,000 miles curly next month. She is to leave Glasgow on December SO for Southampton, where a large number of passengers will be embarked. Up to tin* present 2-30 first-class passengers and over 10(9 second-class passengers have definitely hooked, and a number are still negot at:ng. The new motor-ship will leave South-
ampton on Jenunry 2 for Kingston, and Jeme’ca. whence she proceeds through tiie Panama canal calling at Lor. Angeles and San Francisco on route to Vancouver. She is due at the last-named p.rt- on January 29. The sailing data from Vancouver m the ordinary course would bo February 11. but it has been arranged to accelerate the vessel’s departure by a few days.* and she is therefore announced to sail on February 6. A call wiil be made at the usual ports, Victoria (B.O), Honolulu and Suva, making her due at Auckland on the morning o c February 2!. She is to leave Auckland on February 2o ior Wellington, being due here on February 27. and timed to sail on Feblunrv 23 for Sydney direct. It has been calculated that flic total milage of this cruise is 17.000 miles, ar.d that the minimum firstclass fare works out at 2d per mile to the passengers.—-Special.
