Elliot Smith, the British Egyptologist, who is. a native of Grafton, N.S.W., said in a lecture here than an examination of the mummies had revealed that the Pharaohs of the Exodus had died of hardening of the arteries, while Ramoses the Fifth suffered from a skin affliction similar to smallpox. Cancer, rheumatism and mastoiditis were common 4000 years age, lie declared.
