THE “DRY” LAW
LAXITY OF ENFORCEMENT
WASHINGTON, Oct. 27
Mrs WillelTrandt’s charge of derelictions in prohibition enforcement was confirmed by Attornev-GeiieraF Stone, who after conferring with President Cooiidge announced that Mrs Willebrandt s disclosures already had resulted in the resignation of six Federal attorneys and the impending retirement of four others. Mr Stone added that Mis Willebrandt’s letter had caused great intensifica-c-ation of enforcement throughout the country ; moreover the Department of Justice had been investigating charges of lax enforcement and was acting wherever the conditions warranted it. Air Stone declines to disclose the identities of those who have resigned.—A. and N.Z.C.A. . . , pj'p ElllW *. y
