WATER SICERS SEEKING TROUBLE. SYDNEY, Oct. 29. A decision arrived at by the Wharf Laborers’ Union to refuse to work overtime until the Shipping Labor Bureau is abolished was endorsed by the Brisbane Watersicers’ Federation, ft is expected that the decision, which comes into operation on November 3. will be given effect to by the watersiders throughout the Commonwealth. The unions realise that, when they refuse to work overtime, labor will be found through the shipping bureau, but, to counteract this, seamen will refuse to work ships loaded by non-union labor.
THE MISSING CATHKIT. SYDNEY. Oct. 29. There is no further news of the Cathkit, now fifty-three days at sea. The police have received a letter from the latest victim of the ranch married man recently nicntioi.’ed in the cables. The writer states she married him in Adelaide. Shortly after, he borrowed money from her and lie: disappeared. She states that she had since found out he bad married six times before marrying her.— U.P.A.
