AMERICAN MARINES AT TIENTSIN. EUROPEAN GUNBOATS IN FEIHO RIVER. (Received Oct. 23. 8.55 p.raA PEKING, Oct. 28. Two hundred American marines landed at Tientsin. There are one each English, French and Italian gunboats and two Japanese destroyers in the Pc'ho river. There lias been an excellent response- to the local authorities’ appeal for volunteers.
Many trains with troops from Sbanharkwan are proceeding to Pekin. TVupeifu remains in the native city. He sent- an emissniy to the Consulates expressing the hope that ho would be allowed to remain a few da vs.—Reuter.
