REVOLT IN BENGAL,
DELHI, Oct-. 27. Though outwardly the Government of Bengal’s action in arresting a large number of persons suspected of complicity in revolutionary crime has been received calmly, there is a strong undercurrent of resentment discernable. A huge public-meeting at Calcutta passed a resolution expressing the strongest protest and dedicated pext. -Saturday as a day of mourning throughout the province. The European .community is profoundly' surprised at the extent of revolutionary propaganda disclosed in tho Government's declaration of reasons for promulgating the ordinance. British troops, in full war equipment. marchedi through the- Indian quarter of the city this morning. Armoured cars patrolled tho - streets. —A. and N.Z.O.A.
