SAWMILL HAND KILLED. TAUMARUNUI, Oct, 27. A sawmilling band, Walter Edwin Beresfo'rd, 58 years .and married, residing at Waitiri, tripped over a log on a train bridge between Ngapuke and Wnitui some time on Saturday night and, falling off the bridge, was killed. NAPIER, Oct. 27 "Whils out pig limiting near Porangahau, G. J>. Patcliett, a clerk in the Waipukurau post office, noticed a hare running towards him and proceeded to sight his pea. rifle. As the hare came so close, Patcliett changed his mind and seizing the rifle by the barrel struck at the animal.
