A London cable records the death of Mrs Wignall. wife of Mr Wignall, Labor M.P., who recently toured the Dominion. A Now York cable states that Laura Jean Libby, the authoress, is dead. She was only ill a short time and was aged sixty-three. A Renter message from Washington . states that the Secretary for Agriculture, Mr Wallace, is dead. He underwent an operation a week ago. Fellow Commissioners gave a luncheon to. Mr A. F. Roberts, the New Zealand Commissioner at Wembley, states a London cable. Colonel Cosgrave, the Canadian Trade Commissioner, eulogised Mr Roberts’ efforts on behalf of Empire trade. The talented young Gisborne pianist, ?>lr Lionel Harris, will shortly leave for England, where he will pursue his musical studies. Prior to his departure for Ennm, Mr Harris will give a recital in Gisborne. Passengers travelling by the Gisborne Motor Service Co. 'this morning include Mesdanies Shaw.
