The fixture for a public examination of George Vanco Shannon, bankrupt, at tho Supreme Court to-day. fell thorugh. because it was _stated that the bgnkir.pt was farming up the Wanganui r.ver IGO miles Irom Pip'riki, and ccu’d not get away, owing to floods. The bankruptcy arose over a divorce action in which £ISOO. damages .were r.warded petitioner, Neilllio Sarcicli, and a publ.c examination was ordered. . Counsel for Sarc’ch sa d that Shannon was served eleven days ago, and his information was that there was' no flood in the river to stop him getting ti Wellington. He was living with Mrs, Snrcich. What they ted to know was what- became of over. 37:000 that Shannon had in the bank pr or to bankruptcy. Counsel for Shannon asked for an adjournment. Tlie Chief Justice adjourned the case to December 3, • Sarciclt, who was in Court, remarked to His Honor that ho .was giving this young man too much time.— P.A.
