SEAMEN’S DISPUTE

KAWATIRT TROUBLE SETTLED.

SYDXEY, Oct. 23. The dispute on the Kaivatiri at Newcastle lias been settled. A compromise has been arranged between the Union Company and the Seamen’s Union, as the result whereof the twelve seamen imprisoned have been released and placed aboard the vessel. ‘lt is understood the company agreed to pay three additional members of the crew Australian rates, instead' of engaging them under the New Zealand award.

The Kaivatiri is scheduled to sail to-day to load at Port Stephens for New Zealand.
